The PT Huayou Cobalt Indonesia project is a multi-billion-dollar endeavor spanning two of Indonesia's core nickel industrial parks (Morowali and Weda Bay). It involves phased and rolling construction through multiple joint ventures, ultimately forming a massive industrial cluster that integrates the entire supply chain from nickel mining to battery-grade material production. Its rapid progress and successful commissioning have not only solidified Huayou's central position in the global new energy materials supply chain but have also significantly reshaped the global supply dynamics of nickel and cobalt resources.
Multiple projects were launched around 2021, including:
The Huayue HPAL Project (IMIP): Already commissioned in 2022.
The Huafei HPAL Project (IWIP): Commissioned in the first half of 2024.
The Huashan HPAL Project (IMIP) and collaborative projects with Ford/Vale, among others, are steadily progressing.
As a key supplier of steel reinforcement for the project's construction, Great Wall Steel has consistently ensured the steady advancement of these initiatives.
